Brow lift/forehead lift

What it is
This is a type of cosmetic surgery that is done to give a more youthful appearance. You might consider this surgery if you have deep ‘worry lines’ across your forehead.

What it involves
This surgery can be done under local or general anaesthetic. Cuts are made around your hairline so that your skin can be tightened. If have a general anaesthetic you may need to spend the night in hospital, and remember that as well as possible complications from the procedure itself - such as excessive bleeding or infection, this also carries the risks associated with all major surgical procedures.

Questions to ask
What should I expect to happen after the surgery?
You will experience some pain/discomfort along with possible headaches. The swelling may well spread to your cheeks and eyes, but will die down in a day or two. You will need to keep your head elevated to keep swelling to a minimum. You may have to wear a surgical dressing.  You should be back to work in a week to 10 days.

Things to look out for
Numbness on the top of your scalp, giving way to itching.

If you have really short hair you might want to let it grow a bit before surgery so it can hide any scars.

Does it hurt?
Yes, although healing is usually quick.

Expect to pay

£3000 - £5300
