I had been considering cosmetic surgery for some time and after giving up my own pub some five years ago, I had taken up sailing and it was now starting to show on my face. I was looking weather-beaten and people were always commenting on how miserable I looked, but it was the jowls and the turkey neck that where giving me the sad look, inside I felt fit and forty. “You could do with a face lift” said my friend Adele. That was it, I cashed in my pension and did extensive research on the internet looking for a good clinic with a good reputation.
I discovered Mills and Mills Medical in Marbella,Spain. Going to Mills and Mills not only meant I could take in a holiday in Spain but I was making a huge saving - paying only ₤7000 instead of the ₤12000 I had already been quoted in the UK for the same procedure.
I had my first consultation in London and met my Surgeon, Marco Vircello, who said he was certain he could make a huge difference to my face. He said it wasn’t necessary to lift my brow as I didn’t need it, but that he would concentrate on my neck and lower face, He made me feel
very relaxed and he explained the procedure fully allaying all my fears. I felt confident I was in the best possible hands.
My husband was incredibly supportive but my friends tried to dissuade me, I think having cosmetic surgery is very daunting and when you are well it seems strange to want to make yourself feel unwell. However,I was determined, so on the 2nd October, two days before my op I flew to Spain. I was chauffeur driven from the airport to the clinic. I couldn’t believe it, it was like a 5 star hotel. The clinic is 2 minutes from the beach and is nestled amongst trees 5 minutes from Puerto Banus,pure luxury. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff and they all made me feel so special from the moment I arrived. I had the chance to meet other patients who told me how wonderful the clinic was and their experiences of the surgery. I was getting less nervous by the minute and more desperate to have it done than ever.
On the day of my surgery, Marco walked with me to the theatre with his arm around my shoulders reassuring me all the way “you will look fantastic Ann, I promise” he said.
It was all over at last and at first I was sore and couldn’t really eat but within days the bandages were off and although my face was swollen, I immediately saw the wonderful result, I did look 10 years younger, I cried with joy. I was so happy.I rented an apartment near the Clinic and I stayed for a month resting and recuperating. I wanted to return home without any obvious signs of surgery.
My friends and family where astounded at the difference in me and for my 62nd birthday I was sent several 21st cards as a joke. It’s taken a while for the nerve endings to settle but that is all normal but any pain or discomfort was well worth it as I feel incredible and I am the happiest I have been in years. People who don’t even know me comment on how amazing I look
My experiences at Mills and Mills Medical were far beyond all my expectations. The surgeon, the staff, and all the people I met were wonderful, and always helpful and supportive. I would certainly recommend the clinic to all my friends and family. I'm now planning a return trip; I have been bitten by the bug and guess what? All my friends who insisted I shouldn’t do it are planning theirs too.
