The more information you can get in advance, the more confident you will be when you travel for surgery.
There’s always a temptation to believe that cosmetic surgery will provide a cure-all. You need to be mentally and physically prepared for an op and temper your expectations so that they are realistic.
Being forewarned is forearmed. Quite often we have a picture of what’s involved and the reality is a different story. This is surgery. And you need to think very carefully about what’s involved and be comfortable with it before proceeding.
Once you’ve identifed a surgeon, you want to be sure that they’re going to be the right one for you, that they’ll work with you and help to achieve your aims.
There are several recognised professional bodies it’s a good idea to look for a surgeon who is a member so, if you are looking for a plastic surgeon, we recommend you contact the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons at www.baaps.org.uk
Remember cheapest is not necessarily best. Only make your decision in light of everything you’ve learnt. Don’t let cost be the over riding factor in you decisionmaking. Once you’ve decided on your surgeon and you’ve decided to go ahead with the operation, make sure you get all the costs in writing.
