Marie Jenkins, Patient Co-ordinator at the Birkdale Clinic,
Liverpool recommends
- Consider personal recommendations and clinic/surgeon reputation.
- Check qualifications and number of similar procedures carried out.
- Date of operation/length of recovery time. Scars shouldn’t be exposed to the sun for at least nine months or fading will be slower. Sufficient time needs to be allowed for healing (especially with special occasions coming up)
- Psychological impact – make sure you have good understanding of results surgery can deliver and your expectations are realistic.
- Consider all options – a good surgeon will chat through different alternatives for procedures, eg breast uplift rather than implant, eye lid lifts rather than full face lift.
