Cosmetic surgery inspires skincare brands
24th January 2008

Botox manufacturer Allergan is set to team up with Clinique to launch a new range of "cosmeceuticals" this year.

The range, according to Cosmetics Design, represents a further blurring of boundaries between medical and cosmetic sectors as increasing numbers of products with surgery - inspired marketing and ingredients hit the market.

Allergan already work with Elizabeth Arden on the Prevage range, and the new line will be formulated, developed and manufactured by Clinique while Allergan will take care of marketing and distribution.

Products in the new range will be targeted to complement non-invasive procedures such as laser treatment, dermal fillers, botox injections and microdermabrasion.

By placing the line for sale in doctors' offices the company hopes to benefit from the growing number of consumers who wish to buy their skin care products from trusted specialists.
